Dr. Nap Hosang, M.D., M.B.A., M.P.H.  — Co-Founder

About Nap — Nap is a Lecturer in the Maternal and Child Health Program at the School of Public Health, UC Berkeley. He is also Chair of the Interdisciplinary MPH Program and a faculty sponsor for the School’s Health Environment and Development program and the International Health Specialty Area.

Before joining the Berkeley faculty in 1989, Dr. Hosang was on the medical faculty at the University of the West Indies, Jamaica. He is a practicing obstetrician (Kaiser-Permanente) with special interests in perinatal outcomes, breastfeeding and uterine fibroids domestically, and the management of maternal and child health services in developing countries. His teaching emphasizes leadership development and management training in public health education.

Dr. Hosang is a founding member of the Bay Area International Health Interest Group, a UC Berkeley, UC Davis, UC San Francisco, and Stanford collaborative that promotes educational activities for students with interests in Global Health. He also co-founded the Center for Entrepreneurship in International Health and Development (CEIHD).
