Kirk Smith Research Group
Professor Kirk Smith Professor of Environmental Health Sciences and holds the Maxwell Endowed Chair in Public Health at the University of California, Berkeley. His research group focuses on environmental and health issues in developing countries, particularly those related to health-damaging and climate-changing air pollution, and includes ongoing field projects in India, China, Nepal, Mexico, and Guatemala.
The Center for Entrepreneurship in International Health and Development, UC Berkeley
The Center for Entrepreneurship in International Health and Development was established in 2000. The mission of the Center is to promote and disseminate the use of entrepreneurial methods to improve the health of families in developing countries. Founded in 2001, the Household Energy and Health division of the Center for Entrepreneurship in International Health and Development (CEIHD, pronounced seed) works to improve the health and well-being of women and children in developing countries by catalyzing transitions to cleaner-burning fuels and superior stoves.
Venture Strategies for Health and Development
Venture Strategies is a nonprofit organization created to improve the health of low income people in resource-poor settings, by making use of existing market forces around the world.
